Language School

English Language

We are working with a School in Kuala Lumpur; they were established in 1987 and have an excellent reputation as one of the leaders in English language teaching to children.

The school has over 900 students aged from 4 to 18 at their main centre, an affluent residential suburb twelve kilometres from the centre of KL. They are currently in the process of expanding and are opening a new centre in the New Year.

They are currently looking for highly qualified teachers to join in January.

All of their teachers are fully-qualified native English speakers who are passionate about their jobs. Children are taught in small groups of no more than twelve and the school’s approach is interactive and child-centred.

Children aged between three and six attend either once a week, or every day for one of the intensive classes (which most teachers are required to teach for a minimum of six hours a week).

The majority of students are Malaysian and attend the school once a week for tuition, usually on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

The school have developed their own syllabus, which needs to be up-dated regularly and all teachers are expected to take part in this. As lessons are already written it provides support for teachers who are teaching a brand new age group for the first time.

Teachers are contracted to work for 40 hours a week, which includes an average teaching load of 26-28 contact hours, as well as marking, preparation and planning, meetings, display work, duties, curriculum and materials development, training and marketing activities.

As weekends are the busiest times, teachers are required to work on Saturdays and Sundays and get two consecutive days off in the week.
